Elisabetta Senesi (Tolentino, MC *1977), educated as Business Expert and Foreign Language Correspondent; in 1999 she moved to Florence and in 2002 she graduated on Photography at the Fondazione Studio Marangoni after a three year certificate program, won the scholarship at the end as the best project art piece & theoretical research. She worked for several years as an art gallery assistant, as an exhibition supervisor, as a darkroom teacher as well as a fine art printer. Also, she worked for a while as a freelance photographer for advertising campaigns. Since 2003, she has been teaching film-based and digital photography, theory of communication on photography and projecting artwork as well as the history of photography and contemporary art. From 2006 to 2009, she created and directed the Studio Luce Project in Florence which combined an analog – digital photo laboratory, shop with a gallery space for artists and a photo studio ‘atelier’ for still-life and fashion photography. She participated in numerous workshops with contemporary artists and presented her photo works in several exhibitions. In November 2010, she graduated from the University of Brighton (United Kingdom) with a Master in Digital Media Arts and is now experimenting with sonic art forms in public space. For her MA Art Degree show she achieved an interactive sound installation supported by an MA dissertation on ‘Urban Sound Art and Public Encounters in Shared Acoustic Spaces’. In 2009, she showed her latest photo artwork “Handle With Care” in Warsaw and in Turin as part of an installation view. In November 2010, she presented the printed version of the same artwork at Ratskeller Gallery within the month of photography in Berlin where she currently lives.
