Daydream Livorno Soundwalking Project

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

This project is focused on a series of collective soundwalks into the streets of Livorno, an old sea town in the west coast of Italy, which I choose as a spot to invesitgate the urban sonic space. Here some images from three different sound walks I led in September 2021 where participants walk in silence, listen to space around, write or draw and sometimes record audio or take photographs/video out of the experience. I collected lots of visual, sonic and abstract materials from sound walkers, please check it out on Daydream Livorno Soundwalking Project where you can see the entire process.

A new inspiring sonic collaboration

From Nichola Scrutton web site who offered me this opportunity

Memory | Dream | Encounter Micro-Commissions

In another thread of the Night Vision development, I responded to the main text through a series of drawings.

I was delighted to offer micro-commissions to composers/sound artists Ruth Wiesenfeld, Elisabetta Senesi, Dafna Naphtali, Julia Drouhin and Claire Docherty – an invite to create miniature sound compositions using fragments from those drawings as a visual prompt. The umbrella title is Memory | Dream | Encounter.

On 31st August 2021 the six composers met in a virtual gathering to listen together, discuss the works and creative process.

Many thanks indeed to:

Claire Docherty – Pulse dream fragment For Una MacGlone (bass) & Emma Roche (flute) (3’23)
Dafna Naphtali- Striations (3′)
Elisabetta Senesi – Under the Surface (3’50)
Julia Drouhin – Mer4 (3’50)
Nichola Scrutton – Gestures (3’44)
Ruth Wiesenfeld – the wool from which the ribbons were made (3’54)

The images were a prompt, a connecting point, a spring board for dialogue. The sound compositions stand as individual works and as a collection, which hopefully will be shared publicly in the future

Ba-Li-Bo New piece part of Sur Aural Festival 2020 Santa Cruz Bolivia

My piece starts at min 17.30 – Headphones reccomended

BA-LI-BO (ITA) 2020  Autora: Elisabetta Senesi
